The majority were seen along the gravel bars where they were probably nesting. 3 August Point, Alaska. 50-100 present on Thetis Island off the point from Point. No normal activity was noted. 11 August Pitt Point, Alaska Three seen flying west of the base. 15 August Pitt Point, Alaska Two were heard flying overhead this morning. They could not be seen due to a low fog. 19 August Barrow, Alaska 8 seen just No 1 Footprint Lake. 20 August Barrow, Alaska. 6 flew over the lobe beaches in a N.W. direction.
