19 July Barrow, Alaska
Several individuals seen along the
coast between ARL and the village.
The majority were sitting in the water,
but a few were noted flying.
20 July Barrow, Alaska
Several seen between Noseana Mound.
25 July Barrow to Wainwright, Alaska
Many groups of these gulls were
seen along the coastline. Some
were settled in the lagoons,
other on the ocean while others
were flying around. Most of
these birds seemed to be adults,
however, there were a few
2nd and 3rd year birds.
28 July Barrow → to Pitt Paiat, Alaska.
Many small groups were seen
along the ocean edge. They were
mainly the 30-40 bird size.
31 July Barrow, Alaska
15 seen at mouth of Wirtzschler's
Slough. These consisted
of Aels and Dunn. Both were molting,
5 August Barrow, Alaska
Large groups of adults and immature
were present along Elsa lagoon towards
Newwhak and Nepon.
