Holmes, R. 1959 Larus hyperboreus 2 15 June Barrow, Alaska Several seen during the afternoon flying through the fog. In they landed, they called loudly and could be heard long before they even seen. 25 June Barrow, Alaska A pair were noted near the fourth end 11th Brook ridge near Wohlleben's Lagoon. They were making various noises which sounded as if they could be mewing. 5 July Barrow, Alaska Several seen near Nunuk on to the eastward along the sand spit. 6 July Barrow, Alaska. Three seen flying over the tenders near A.P.C.S. 7 July Barrow, Alaska. Two seen flying over the drum area during the afternoon. One was molting in the wings. 14 July Barrow, Alaska One seen north deep near 11th bar and about 6 were along the west cost of the middle salt lagoon. None were seen along the ocean.
