Holmes, R. 1959 Stercorarius parasiticus 11 June Barrow, Alaska One seen in and near the drum area at 2000. It would fly with its head pointed down and occasionally would turn and land on an exposed area of tundra. It was never seen to bounce on anything or pick up anything but apparently it was looking for food. After about 10 min, it left the area in the direction of the sea. 19 June Barrow, Alaska A pair seen along the beach ridge, east of the gas line. They were seen in a chase and proceeded to head northward. They were not seen during the remainder of the day. 21 June Barrow, Alaska One bird seen crossing the beach ridge near the gas line. 25 June Barrow, Alaska A pair was seen just N of the East Census Area along the short Elson Lagoon. They appeared to be feeding. 26 June Barrow, Alaska One seen near gas line on beach ridge.
