Holmes,R 1963 Skrewani Pmannu 27 May Barry, Alaska No jaguars seen along the main ridge - One pair was settling on a mound near the main end / Ortelko's Plat. While 3-4 individuals were seen flying over the plot at various times during the afternoon. Several more were seen singly along Etsinlagona, NORT Wohlschlag. Probably 12-15 individuals in all were noted between a magnetic statue - Wohlschly Sloyl- Etsinlagona. Fox chase, accompanied by the party that day, no calls were noted, but in both cases, all birds proved on - One was no evidence of area-attachment. 28 May Noneseri in drum area. During afternoon between Britha's area - village slope to Uthane - Saw 11 (incl. 1 melanistic). South of the village - new village slope - 2 burrows found - 300 yards apart - both 1 which acted like foxes were settled, cubs. No territorial defence seen - When we were flushed, they returned to the same area. - Lemmur activity ever frequent in this area. A "settled" bird was also present near the "insert plots."
