Holmes,R 1967 Stercorarius pomarinus 14 June Barrow, Alaska. 15/2 birds in sight at all times between Beaver Ridge - Ookpik Slope & Mountains. They seem to be quite spread out & are actively hunting. Birds at Skroocheer settled - i.e. localised - but not evident/ not singing yet. 16 June - Settled birds seen near The Curlew Slop area - new Elson Lagoon - Shoals separated by Pitikle - along Beaver Ridge. 17 June Numbers decreasing - only 1 seen along Beaver Ridge 20 June 3-4 birds seen between Ush area & The Shravik Warrigan. 3 birds even seen on The plot - but they showed no sign of sitting + were probably struggling. 21 June Again, 3-4 birds seen along The plot - but they were moving through - hunting - no stopping. 24 June / Seen during flight Skroocheer. Now seen Wheeler & across Plot. Numbers are very reduced. 26 July: 3 birds seen flying over plot, L.B. 4 July / Flying over Wohlsehley Slope. 12 Aug / Dark phase in U.P.'s marsh - hunting.
