Holmes,R 1961 Stercorarius pomarinus 9 June Barrow, Alaska Weasel disturbed them. Many lone birds were seen north of footpoint + near Skrooik. (On 7 June - in the late evening, Chamberlain I observed a jaeger, tearing apart a lemming near Voth's, and - this is the 1st I have seen with a lemming). 11 June Large numbers were present in central marsh. 8 were seen settling down, per Dr. 11 were flying around - & that at one to from the center of the marsh, 2s cover the sea. Other were seen flying over the beach ridge. All were pomarine - in light plumage, except 1 dark. 12 June A few coastland jaegers seen in the vicinity of Voth's area. 13 June - One seen to catch a lemming near denali gate. Several birds in light plumage were cruising the census plot at Skrooik. 15 June Several birds seen on The Tundra, east The B.R., but number seemed to be stockpiling off. 17 June Only 2-3 birds seen today - during an entire day spent on The Tundra. 18 June Very few birds seen in central marsh - Voth area. 20 June None seen a plot at Skrooik, but 2 seen on Footpoint Lakes.
