Holmes.R. 1960 Stercorarius pomarinus 30 aug Barrow, Alaska found + also another dead juvenile (banded) owl. It appear to be another repeat / The same incident. No territorial encounters were seen today, and in general, there seem to be fewer jagers in the tundra. It is still possible to hear the juvenile birds' cries nearly everywhere. Archie wt. at 1300 = 807.5g. 2 Sept - Jagers seemed to be rather scarce today. The two chicks along the lagoon were alive there and at least 1 adult was also there. Hotspurs points & sibling were still there. During the travel around the marsh, several adults + at least 2 chicks were noted. The day was cold & it was snowing, so this may have guided the birds. No territorial encounter was seen, however one incident was noted. An adult jager was flying west. A few seconds after I saw the bird, another adult
