Holmes, R. 1966 Stercorarius pomarinus 9 Aug. Barrow, Alaska Two flying juveniles are now seen along the west edge of Fresh- water Lake. Often are seen frequently on the tundra. 14 Aug - A group of 4 adults and 4 immature were seen flying together over the rock ridge. Then appeared to be no territorial conflict between the birds, but they were only seen together for 1-2 minutes. 21 Aug Sturnus Adults + Juveniles are still seen on the tundra, many The pairs seemed to have raised 2 chicks. 25 Aug - Many of the pairs are still in territory along with their chicks. It seems, however, that some of the chicks are starting to leave - as grown 1-3 or 4 are now seen. 29 Aug Two territorial disputes were seen today in Central Marsh. In both cases, the adults announced (usually on the wing), and a chase ensued. The chases were of short duration.
