In the afternoon, Pitekka and I returned to The
Elsm lagon site & quickly located The pair in
The same vicinity as in The morning. The birds
were going Through The same routine as described
above - feeding occupies 3/4 of time & is interrupted
by short courtship performance by The &;- often
followed by short flight; Chaser if Dunlin - or in
The case of The & - brisk steps to give The song,
or The white note.
1) Courtship
a) Ground . as described previously but with

Wings held at a greater angle with
Tips flaring out at a 60° Angle. The

forth - Each time This was seen-
The & was observed to dash at

direction. In several cases it
