Holmes, R. 1960 Stereocararius Pomarinus 2 30 may Barrows, Alaska circle around when a wandering jaeger came into an area. Twice a wing raising display was performed by both birds on the ground. In the case, The wings are raised high over head + the head either held back or extended forward. Usually a rather loud cry accompanied the display. 31 may Barrow, Alaska. Numbers seem to have increased during the day. Maker estimates a 3-4X increase in the central ward region. Birds seem to be evenly spaced out + ever wide expansion snow while have a pair or two of jaeger sitting on it + defending this area against others. 1 June Barrow, Alaska Scattered jaegers were present below APL and Skovoid. No large numbers were seen. A group of 21 were seen settling on the lake. Along the west side, pairs seemed to be established every 5 mile or so. No clarge concentrations were observed. 2 June The same held true today for the jaeger populations in the Skovoid
