Holmes, R. 1959 Stercorarius pomarinus 19 August Barrow, Alaska The nest was checked, and the adults were still present and attending the young. The chick has begun to feather out and will probably leave the nest within a week or so. 21 August Barrow, Alaska The young jaeger had left the nest by 1300 today. The adults were still present & attacked me as I neared the nest. They soon flew off in a westerly direction & seemed to stay about 300 yards away. - After searching for the young was not found, but it was probably somewhere close by. 25 August Barrow, Alaska 6 seen in Central Marsh, flying low on the tundra towards the nest. 26 August Barrow, Alaska One seen in Central Marsh. None seen in the vicinity of the nest as I left. Bare. 28 August Barrow, Alaska One seen near footprint Lake. Now
