Holmes, R. 1959 Stercorarius pomarinus 29 July Barrow, Alaska were seen during the whole time. 31 July Barrow Alaska Three birds were seen near Woolschlegi Slough in the afternoon. None were seen in VITA's area. 1 August Barrow Alaska The nest was checked, and it still contains the young bird. The adults are as active as before. 4 August Barrow, Alaska The young bird was still in the enclosure and was attended by the adults. 5 August Barrow, Alaska Three seen near Newwale, horsing the Siberia Gull & Kittiwakes. 7 August Barrow, Alaska Two seen near Footprint Lake chasing a group of Pied-billed Sandpipers. No contact was made. None were seen on the trip to Woolschlegi & Dyak Slough 1. The nest was checked and the young bird was still there, and the adults were active. 18 August Barrow, Alaska Two were seen just south of AACs, flying over the Tundra.
