Phalaropus fulicarius
6 July Barrow, Alaska
3 a.m. nuti drum area - did a partial distraction display. When it was flushed at flee moments for 2' handles - lowered head, tail which was partially fanned - both further were ruffled so that my almost stock straight up & wings were out of a fold. The bird flickered from side to side - ever very almost touchin the ground as it leaned to that side. After about 30 seconds - I saw almost staggering movement - the bird straightened up & stood there - in the usual clumsy Phalaropus manner.
9 July Small number crossing the plot - but no lays. Holes seen free. At south end 1 Skroul hole - 1 foot 1 ~150 g? and 1 at least 500 m an Arctophila - filled pond. The nest in the plot & few others are a bit censused.
12 July Only bird in plot today - were present nests - most of which were empty - i.e. had hatched - all census sheet. Wherever - only observed 37 Raven seen in the VOR Area during my afternoon.
14 July Several 878 - n?g
17 July Several 875 as warm n?g - n
[illegible] today.
