Holmes,R. 1962 Phalaropus fulicarius 24 June Barrow, Alaska only one egg. One 087 r a few 94 seen noted on the plot. One cygnet in wader (see M. S. end 1 M. plot). Several 94 seen chasing over the area and 887. 26 June - flock of about 30 94 seen - gravel pond - near Britten's Area. 27 June Nest on plot - still with 1 egg - warm. Apparently 07 is still incubating. Three nests found north of Wannigan inlet to Sherowat - 2 with 4 eggs; 1 with 3. Still some 94 chasing 887 on the plot - no flock noted today. 2 July Nest on Sherowat plot - all intact with 087 incubating - No nest seen with 1 egg. Two more not found - containing 2 eggs. No 94 were seen with 087 whose nest above tons - but 3-4 pairs seen still noted. Flock of about 40 94 at a Wannigan inlet. Mille reported 100% of 94 at the south end of the lake. 4 July No birds in Central Mass. 5 July Lay Flochs 1 94 along Sherowat plot's inlet. Still 2 94 seen with 887 on the plot. The nest which contained 1 egg in the gravel - now contained 4. The 3rd nest egg - is still incubating. Another nest was located - on the plot - just 2 eggs.
