Holmes, R. 1960 Phalaropus fulicarius 26 July Barrow = Keroavik Alaska Large groups 158 (molting) were seen along Keroavik. No juveniles were in the group, but a couple of flocks / km. flying birds were seen. 29 July - Several molting 88 were seen in Central ward & Sleet. Also 2 Sgym young were noted. 30 July - Molting 88 are still present + now flying juveniles are beginning to appear. I noticed several 158 here today in VITA's Area, and also several partially grown chicks. The 88 do not seem to attend these young birds for closely, since they are often found alone with no adults nearby. 3 August Barrow = So. Barrow 3, Alaska Very few were seen during our trip south (not again). But several occasional 88 were noted. No juveniles seen. 6 August Barrow = Keroavik Alaska Small groups / hours seen between The boat & The lata. Along the shore to Lake (west side), many molting birds were present. They were feeding
