2 June Barrow, Alaska
2 seen flying over central Marsh by Maher
3 June - 2 pair seen - No small, ice
choked ponds along Elson Lagoon
between Wodel + Ootjib.
5 June - many flocks of 3-15 were seen
between Barrow + The Ingrain River.
These were usually seen moving (flying),
but occasionally a group waver
along the padder marsh. Several
pairs were seen.
6 June - a pair was seen near Footprint
Lake.
7 June Several pairs seen along Elson Lagoon.
9 June - Several pairs seen Sr. 1 with Stout
10 June - 1 pr. seen Elson Lagoon
12 June - Several gr. seen on the broad ridge
+ on the west shore & Footprint Lake.
14 June Several pairs seen along the ridges near Theron
+ Footprint Lakes.
22 June - During The last few days, the number
of Phalaropes has definitely increased,
As the melt-off waters have
accumulated in large marshes,
etc., The birds have arrived to
spend most of their time feeding.
