Thamnophis suffigunotatus
Rio Papigochic, Minara, 6300', Chihuahua, Mexico
2237-41 RZ
June 25
All five which I obtained were found beneath rocks at the stream edge in the daytime. Bill Rosner got one last night in the stream. In contrast to the T. eques found under rocks in the daytime,
the T. suffigunotatus were sluggish, as if just awakened.
Most of the suffigunotatus have reddish spots on a gray-brown background. One has dark brown spots on the same general background as the others.
