R. Zweifel 1953 Thamnophis suffigunotatus Rio Papigochic, Minara, 6300', Chihuahua, Mexico 2237-41 RZ June 25 All five which I obtained were found beneath rocks at the stream edge in the daytime. Bill Rosner got one last night in the stream. In contrast to the T. eques found under rocks in the daytime, the T. suffigunotatus were sluggish, as if just awakened. Most of the suffigunotatus have reddish spots on a gray-brown background. One has dark brown spots on the same general background as the others. 1 mi.
