R. Zweifel 1953 Cnemidophorus tigris 1 mi. E Berino, Dona Ana Co., New Mexico 2207-2209 RZ June 23 About two hours after sunrise the lizards were first seen to become active. The region is quite sandy. The lizards are most abundant in mesquite-topped sand hummocks but judging from their tracks, do not confine their activities to the hummocks. Larea and Yunea are present between the mesquite hummocks, but the general aspect is rather open. Uta stansburiana was the only other lizard seen. Tracks of small snakes, possibly Tropidophis, were common on the dunes.
