Zweifel 1953 Bufo cognatus Road north of Durango, Durango, Mexico 2365-6, 2369-70, RZ July 6 Several of these toads were encountered on the driving road during the course of some 50 miles, after dark to within 10 miles of the city of Durango. The toads were abroad during and between showers. One male was found giving its very loud rattling call from a roadside irrigation ditch. At another spot a chorus was heard. 4.4 mi N Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico July 19 Previously reported from only as far south as the Punta Rencero region, this individual involves a considerable extension of range - 350 mi.
