R. Zweifel 1953 Ambystoma rosaceum 7 mi. SW El Tegel (Tegunita) 7800', Chihuahua, Mexico 2296-2301 RZ July 1 In the stream (5' wide x 6" deep) and in pools up to 18" deep. Muddy bottom, salamander larvae usually hide under rocks in the pools. The larger larvae are mottled black and greenish yellow, the smaller larvae have less prominent markings, the green color predominating. The water temperature where one large larva was taken was 29.6° C.
