There are several prominent water streaks on the cliff face at the mouth of the main canyon, at the end of the road. Possibly water filled potholes or even spring may exist up on those cliffs... Jony liked my the main canyon after dark looking for water, but found obs a tiny pothole 6" in diameter. He brought back a few tiny black tadpoles from it, too desiccated to be identified. The Hyfa remain to be found. The presence of Bighorn sheep (we saw two) suggests that some surface water is present, but they may travel very far to it. July 24 Returned to Los Angeles.
