238, 239, 241, 285-291. 1952: 20, 21, 47, 50-52, 55, R. Zweifel Journal 1992 May 1 made to dragging a cyprnodont mummy about 3" long which it had eaten May 2 Drove to Topanga Canyon, Santa Monica Mountains, Los Angeles County. Two miles south of Woodland Hills a live Pituophis was picked up on the road about 11:00am. I collected in the canyon at an elevation of about 400'. Tortugas were scarce. I saw only seven in the stream and caught six of these. A striped newt was caught in the canyon bottom. Also a single Rana aurora and one Hyla arenicolor. Others were seen. May 3, 1953 Santa Barbara Co., Calif. Attempted to go to Indian Creek, where B. boylii has been taken, but the road was closed. Collected on at 1:00m Public Camp, Oso Creek. Found one Rana aurora (saw two others) and two Hyla arenicolor. Stream in chaparral canyon. Spermops & live scots along stream. Looked for frogs along the Santa Ynez River in the general vicinity of Moor Public Camp, and upstream almost to Santa Ynez Public Camp. Only frog seen (none caught) Rana lute animus.
