Much of the lake margin is choked with grass. Hyla regilla, Bufo boreas and Triturus t. scierus are present here. The Triturus was at the point where a stream enters the east side of the lake. About ½ mi. upstream from the lake, two Rana scierus were taken from an ice - leted overflow pond about 40' from the stream. The pond is about 10' long, 4' wide and 18" deep, Temp 10.5° C. A heavy growth of willows surround it. Hume Lake, Fresno Co., Calif. Typical Transition-zone forest. Many bullfrogs in lake - no others.
