R. Zweifel 1958 84 Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico April 27 Looked up a canyon on the north side of Ensenada Bocchilango in search of a reported hot cave. Didn't find it. Got one Salpymus clarki and a Hrozemua ornatae. Again no lita taylors. (Sue oloma) Went out with Bleedel to the island, and left him two to set his nets and returned to Bocchilango. Drove about 20 miles of highway north of Guaymas without seeing a snake or lizard, alive or dead. After returning, I went back to the island (with the man who rented us the boat pilot) and picked up Bleedel and 20 Pirngys. April 30 En route Guaymas to Tucson. Left Hwy Bocchilango at 9:00 PM, arrived Nogales at about 2:30 AM. Only two BOR snakes were seen, a Salodra hosalgia 14 road miles N Buris and a Tumorhodoa loulida 17 road miles N Buris. Neither was in fit condition to be saved. This was a chilly region with many mosquito trees. In Arizona, along BOR Masticophis flagellum was found 5 mi. SW Continental, Pima County. The anterior fourth of the body is black, but shows traces of the piped rings which characterize a new race from south of this region to be described by Jones & Woodin.
