W Skandon, San Luis Obispo Co, Calif April 29, 1953 Under a 4" diameter willow log in very sandy soil on the first level above the river bottom. This is an open stand of willow and cottonwood trees along the rivers in this arid valley. The ventus is dull greenish-yellow - quite dull as compared to those of southern California as I remember them.
