R. Zweifel 1953 228 Rana sierrae Sage Horn Creek, Nevada Co., Calif. Oct 4, 1953 The following transcribed from Bob Hoffman's field notes for Oct 4: 2:30 P.M Went out hunting frogs along creek. Adults found along shallow (not steep) banks, where current is moderate and in adjacent potholes. Young adults also found along small tributary creeks. Tadpole found only on potholes adjacent to creek - mostly fairly deep & with silt & significant matter on the bottom. On 1 side of creek, where tadde were collected this way in all 4 potholes, there are now tadde only in # 3 which is the smallest & has least silt, etc., of the 4. There are a great many tadde; they are smaller than those collected upstream.
