R. Zweifel April 16, 1952 134 Diadophis occidentalis occidental Jow Pass Creek, 11.0 mi WNW Montgomery Ct, Shasta Co., Calif. Joe Norman Mid-ventral. - appears between Orange Rufous and Orange Chrome, but this is no Ridgway color very close Sub-cervical. - Grounded Red Dorsal. - darker than Blackish More Gray Ventral color very 2/3 anteriorly, 2 at vent. Orange of upper lip well defined above. Neck ring similar in color to centers. Ventral spotting very sparse - 10 long spots on 10 ventrals. When compared to a living Diadophis of similar size, the gray dorsal surface of occidentalis is markedly different from the brownish brownish cast of modocensis. SV 165 mm
