Xantusia vigilis
Bodfish Creek, 2 mi. ESE Bodfish,
Kern Co., Calif.
Two adults taken this morning, one under a
branch on the ground, the other beneath loose
chork on an oak stump.
The country in general looks like typical
digger pine - blue oak association to which has
been added juniper, ceanothus and scrubby
live oak. The result is a denser physiognomy than
typical digger pine-blue oak, but still of rather
open aspect - perhaps 50% cover.
