R. Zweifel Mar. 29, 1952 103 Eumenes sklerionensis 2 mi. NW Calistoga, Napa Co., Calif. 1732-37, R2 In tearing apart a rotten diggs-pine log on a grassy hillside, four slinks were found coiled up in the slightly moist rotted wood in the interior of the log. Temperatures taken in the wood where the slinks had been (and in one case beneath a slink in situ) were 10.0°c, 7.6°c and 7.6°c again. The ligards were rather sluggish. They were found singly. Other more active slinks were found in log and under nearby rocks. See journal for notes on flora and topography.
