R. Zweifel June 1, 1952 50 of Hyla regilla at about 7:00 AM, but we could find no Rana. The elevation here is 7750' according to the Auto Club Map (Mono-Stonelake Outing Map).* Where the road crosses the Upper Truckee River we found a single Rana boylii aerial in a pool beside the swollen stream. Bill found it sitting on a log in the pond. Driving down highway 50, we stopped several times to look for frogs in the American River but couldn't find any. Culax constrictor momon was found in a grassy clearing in the yellow pine forest. At Weber Cr., 2.2 mi w of Pleasant Grove, at the yellow pine - dugger pine border zone we stopped to collect four Rana b. boylii and a small Clemmys. No further collecting was done on the way back to Berkeley. *A dar Thamnophis s. elegans was found here beside a snowbank.
