H. Zweifel May 30, 1952 Journal 48 limited to the meadow margins at Jonserville. We collected nothing at Jonserville. At Butte Meadows the following were taken: 1 Thamnophis elegans , 1 Nerthistius cerulens, 1 Triturus troosa creina, 1 Ensatina eschscholtzii platensis and 1 Hyla regilla. Scelozoma graciosa was abundant. Tonight's camp is near Seneca, on the North Fork of the Feather River, Plumas Co. May 31, 1952 This morning we worked along the stream fs about ten home but could find no frogs. The stream was quite high, and thus seemed to be not good tributaries. Rana boylii may not occur in those large streams where there are no small tributaries of appropriate gradient, but it will be necessary to check again when the waters is low. Triturus t. creina, Sceloporus graciosa, S. occidentalis and Thamnophis elegans were collected here. Plants: Big-leaf maple, douglas fir, black oak, dogwood (both creek & pacific), choke cherry, thimble berry, alder, incense cedar, black cottonwood. yellow pine present as hillside, but not in canyon bottom.
