Zwiefel Aug 20, 1940 Of course we stopped at Borodubango in Cerroza. This is probably the most pleasant spot on the coast. We tried might driving north of Hermosillo, but meant we poor enough that we stopped after 40 miles. We found only one DOR Coluber flagellum and and LOR Crotalus atrox. The color is black anteriorly and tan posteriorly; a most hybrid looking beast. Possibly this is an ontogenetic effect. Aug 21, 1950 Driving north this morning we encountered the following snakes on the road: Thamnophis eques (DOR) and Salvadora hexalepis (DOR) both 34 mi S. Santa Ana; Coluber flagellum specios DOR 37.1 & 19.4 mi S. Santa Ana Thamnophis macrostoma DOR (not saved) 25.2 mi S. Nogales; and Pituophis catenifex DOR (not saved) 8.1 mi S. Nogales. The first Coluber is an adult in the all black stage. The other is a tan juvenile with only one or two faint blotches on the rock.
