P. Zweifel Dec. 9, 1951 301 Ctenhorotus multicaudatus St. Mary's College, Contra Costa Co., Calif. On a Paleontology field trip today at the start edge of the St. Marys Campus, a young alligator lizard (SV about 85mm) was noted sunning on the sandstone by the side of the road. Though sunny, the weather was cold. Freezing temperatures had occurred the previous night (or early morning, more probably). A car of water sitting where the lizard was captured was frozen over at 11:00AM when the lizard was captured
