Boulder Creek, Emi NNW Deacones,
San Diego Co., California
I spent a few minutes collecting in
the creek bottom around 4:30 PM.
Four Triturus were collected and about
four six more seen on the shores and in
pools, principally in the latter. A small
Salvadora was caught in the midst of
a poison oak bush by the stream. A
garter snake and another unidentified
snake escaped.
If there are Pona baylis anywhere on this
part of the country, they should be in
Boulder Creek. Next time I will try
to spend a longer period of time and
see if they wont turn up
