Sd Shave Lake Fresno Co. Calif.; - Home, Fresno, Cal.
avian activity was ~0800- R.B Withoth, Stella Joy, w/Chickadee Jumper. However, w/ only a few spp around it's hard to discern if there is a definite peak in activity. Did find 15-20 Fox Sparrows, P.S. Toucan, Cassin Finch, Band-tailed Pigeon, Yellow Warbler. Drove to Shave L. for b'fast then headed to Home - via Tidharng Sanga, Centerville, then through Kings Canyon Natl. Park, Drive to Hume L. + a Forest ser. person told me I could find Brushfields (500s'+) just to stop at Bearskin Meadow (T.13S, R28E, S 1/2se 26. rN 1/2 sec. 35) but there seemed to be many more roads than on the map + we didn't find much in the way of brushfields. We drove down rd to Bearskin Creek (+ perhaps missed rd to Bearski Mdw) - about 3mi. in I shot a Tamisiacus douglasii out of a 70ft. spruce. We drove on + refdwd to near Hucklberg Mdw (T.13S, R.28E, N 1/2sec. 28) + canceled. On a "brushfield" we set 85 Sherman's. The area in old growth as many charred logs remain - manzanita (~35ft.), Lemmon's, some Chirpangr., sm. canfor & cedar. Heard Dany Wolly Robin, 2+ Fox Sp, Junco, wren? haven't Crossbill.

RMZ in Dos 3/65 - all Peromyscus, it's hard to believe the pops are so low, perhaps it's too high too late or? About 0800 noted that bird activity seemed to pick up Saw 2 Sharp-shins - one
