Fox Sparrow - 25 kernel
11 December
0630 left MVZ w/ Susan Kaiser & David Good
headed for Lake Co. Calif. We intended to do some
general collecting plus call wintering Fox Sp. especially.
Drove N on Hwy. 101 to Ukiah r then cut off to
Potter Valley r continued on to Lake Pillsbury. Drove
to W end of lake - there are some brushy flat areas
just N of road r near airfield. We continued on (up)
750m
finally stopping at T. 17N, R. 10W, SW1/4 sec. 36 -- . From
Lk. Pillsbury to here, the habitat is mixed coniferous or

5-60% knobcone pine, 0-5% Yellow Pine, 0-5% Fir, 5-85% chaparral
(2nd sp. of Arctostaphylos, Chamise, 0-5% Madrona, Conothus, 0-30%
scrub-oak). We hunted all day; Lots of Fox Sp. r
went to Set 3 nets.
