As the road bends along, its the E side of the mtn, the vegetation drastically reduces! the trees are gone (past fire?) and the vegetation is scattered brush + small sage to extensive brush. Nowhere seems to quite stop. We direct Carson City and saw a Prairie Falcon (see pg 69). Birds seen: along King Canyon Rd, Douglas Co, Nevada 8pm-4am 22 July: Gr.
