R.M. Zink 1978 Journal Sierra Nat Forest, Mariposa Co, California 30 May left went to area off Harris Rd (T.65, R20E, sec 1- N) but area seemed to dense overgrown - is perhaps worth checking out later. Decided to go to Oakhurst & ask about areas to the E. (N20) Got very little info at Oakhurst - said there were few burns in area : w side of Bass Lake (98area), Manganita Lake, & Drove the w side of Bss L or same, Manganita l. burn (sec mg) not evident but was 400 A. Went to District station at North Forks & talked to Ed Horgan - he's an expert on the fire history of much of the Sierra - pointed out several areas (see my) Sierra Nat Forest T.95, R23E, sec.17 1640 Part of area burned in 1973 (lightening fire). Brush is less dense & in N central section 17 there's relatively flat region. Parbelaby sparsely wooded stream. Pt. of Plain Ditmore & Scul-tays, Brewers Bluff, Scowwood. Am thoroughly confused at this point as to what constitute Fox Sparrow habitat. Hunted this area for ~90min. (1700-1830): -this area burned in 1973 - burnt every shrubs still evident mangonita (6"-16') poison oak somely Queencs sq. greas corna, loba rock prolifer Ld 235 [illegible] small stream (Queencs bordered) N ->
