Still in pursuit of Li monensis, we drove down McBee Canyon & checked out sagebrush area. We with found a few margarita. However I 2 near Lingle (1928) & Humph Birds in margarita cleared were at Woodfords & not 9 mi., W Benton ! Holy shit - birds looking all day in wrong habitat ! We did see a Swainson Hawk (see sp acct). In the sagebrush chaparral, only saw 4 Grn-J. Towhee + 4 Brewer sp. 13 July I drove to Sanmill Mtn. this time to look in wet areas, Populus for Fox Sparrows. At Sanmill Mtn., there are few Populus. It looked if this mtn. was wetter in times past. Saw family of Jays, several Red-b. Sapsucker.
