A.C. Zeebeel 1961 Journey Strawberry Canyon, Berkeley, Alameda Co., California May 27 Took zoo 1/3 day 7:15-10:15 am. Warm this years 4 sunny, Many birds singing, etc - (2001/3) Saw Thamnays - perhaps a 9 or yo. or from size - completely leaving lover of pen entrance on hillside to gather live x some deer Wild oat plants. Many times. Saw an 1yo deer then a male with antlers (spike?) still involved with another equal size but insects over. 2 Microtus seen also in runs or grassy Hillsides, caught a bethonorus muric. (Lo.) under lumber. Birds: Red tailed Hawk - 2 Bewick Wren - 2 (not) [illegible] - 3 [illegible] Band-t'd Pigeon? 1? Passerine - 3 (singing) Rock Dove - 1 Swainson Thr. - ? Mourning Dove - 2 Coeur d'Alene - 20+ Swallow (?) - 1 Wilson Warbler - ? "Hummingbirds" - 5 Red W'd B't's & Zo - 4 (mix) Red Sh'ls Flicker - 1 Cowbird - 8+ (6?) Downy - 1 Blue-Headed Vireo - 5 Westr. Flycatcher (?) - 1 (Calamita) Lazuli Bunting - 2 oz Steller Jay - 5 House Finch - 20+ Scrubb
