A.C.Zeeler 1961 Journal Tilden Park, San Mateo County, California Apr.22 Took Zoo 113 Field Trix this AM 8:15 - 9:15 AM. (Still arriving at 9:15 am so we went home.) During rain & over breaks in rain saw a few birds too. About 10 flocks for a total of 400+ Warblers flying over - generally North to South - for what the direction is worth. Saw a few Robins, 2 Song Sparrow, 1 Junco, 1 Brown Thrasher, 1 [illegible] (my first or second) Red Breasted (singing & flying over), 2+ Anna's Hummingbirds. Bewick's Wren, 1 Canyon Wren, 1 Brown Creeper Warbler (singing only), 2 Tree Swallows, 1 Cdn. Quail, + heard 2 or 3 Cowbirds. Would have been a good day if rain had stopped - sun out about 9:30 am but occasional briefening shade or overcast during rest of morning back in Berkeley. South San Francisco (A. San Bruno), 25+ ft, San Mateo County. Apr.28 Put up 10 Microtus californicus (x ssp. californicus) for MVE. Caught Apr. 25, 1961 on a small hill north in or near a marsh of "A. San Bruno" by U.S. Pub. Health Service, San Fran. (Accin 993) These people reported other mice of this population had been found to be highly
