A.C. Beeler 1960 Microrus townsendi (?) 1/2 mi. NW Spanaway, Pierce Co., Washington June 22 Took 1 of this genus & perhaps this species in thick grass just beside a wide stream. No burrows noticed. Took P.M. Austrolus, Neureichius & 2 spp. bony in woods near to stream also. Grass only along a 2-3 ft. wide strip along parts of stream - in other words did not have a very extensive amount of Microrus habitat. Skull not cleaned yet so cannot check Parat. Ant. Pal. foramina - otherwise I am not sure I see the difference btw. this species & M. longicaudus maculatus
