A.C. ZIEGLER 1960 PEROGNATHUS ARTICOLA 1/2 mi. SW Cameron, 3900 ft., Kern Co., Calif. 15 MAR Took 2 in 25 snow years & 9 in 34 Sherman live traps. Dr. Quay took about 8 in Shermans. Also party took Percalifornicus, P. inornatus, Perom. maniculatus + Qlao. sp.? in area. This represents a new locality in MVT for this species of pocket mouse. - The subspecies is listed as INEXPERATUS. The 3 species caught here may be identified as follows: P. ARTICOLA - Large, smooth; non-brush-tailed, no (or very little) ooee; rather greyish. P. INORNATUS - Small; smooth, non-brush-tailed strong "house-mouse coat"; yellowish. P. CALIFERNICUS - Large; spiny; brush-tailed. no oooe?; greyish-brown.
