A.C. ZIEGLER 1960 Sorex newbriidgi June 21 1 1/2 mi. NW SPANNWAY, Pierce Co. Washington Took 3 or 4 in snowbeds in wet thick woods. Took also 1 S. y. varzonis + a NEWBRIDGII here. One specimen of the [crossed out] 4 was quite whitish underneath (fig 9 set) and may be a S. y. setosus when the cleaned skull is examined. Dr. Quiny took another newbridgi in a live trap here night before last. June 23 Jct. Dungeness & Chehalis rivers, 800 ft. (William G. Allen) McCulloch took one in snowbed at 2100 last night in grassy + brush area beside river. 3 varonis also taken by him in same area.
