"Owl"
1 mi. W Bolinas P.O., 120 ft., Marin Co., Calif.
April 19 Notes on Owl Pellets collected in
by William J. Hamilton III.
conifer (cedar?) grove close to A&B which
I trapped for several weeks in summer of
1958. But not seen material consisting
of about 48 whole pellets & a double
handful of disintegrating pellet matter.
Only crania & mandibles were counted,
each part as 1 individual to slug time.
Pellets were torn apart & skulls roughly
separated by Hans Marica - a young
fellow doing volunteer odd jobs around
the museum. Identifications checked by
myself. Have no idea how many years
the pellets had been collecting.
