A.C. Zeeher 1959 Bearded Whales off Farallon Islands, San Francisco Co., Calif. Sept. 17 (cont) searches were pairs or not. As far as I know no photos were taken after whale was blown ashore. Fore-pair of teeth stuck up above gum a couple of inches but rear teeth (at least the left - the only one looked at) were visible at gum line but flush with the gum - searched for vestigial teeth before & after boiling but found none. No bristle notice on skull. Mr. Dale W. Rice of Fish & Wildlife Service gave following info, meat's & skeleton ss. (transcribed from his notes): "Circassian Specimen #143 (on Rice's memo's sheet) Bearded Whales length - 11.20 m or Sept. 17, 1959 (37') coll. Bud Newton "Lynn Ann" brubber thickness -- back 14 cm belly 14 cm side 12 cm ["back" = 10% total length in front of dorsal fin "belly" = few ft. anterior to genital opening "side" = opposite "belly" measuring spot] Parasites: Conchocoma aurium - many on anterior teeth (all collection) Cymids - few scattered on body; many
