A.S. Eberle 1959 Peromyscus monicurus Aug. 8 THRU 15 Powder Flat, 5000'ft, 12 mi NW Hayot Camp S 5/4 of you Co, Calif. These seem larger, longer tailed or longer eared than those from around Berkeley and other locations. The ones are in breeding condition, but one or two young ones seem to be just finishing weaning. Several grey young are about. See adults at night in bushes around camp. Aug. 17 THRU 20 Butt Creek 4300'ft, 8 mi S Chaves Pines Co, Calif. Only 5 or 6 taken in the area previous here. Still they seem thus the 2nd commonest mammal in area - C. lateralis being most common.
