Peromyscus eremicus
Freeman Canyon, 4700+ ft, 1.8 mi (by road) SE Wander Pass, Kern Co.
June 28 Took at least 3 ad. x 1/2 yr above
with P. nevii, P. monisticus, Onychomys
Neotoma lepida x O. doc domantrixes
Trays were darker, bigger eared, and-
eye-rings. That these 4 species might be
boylei so Dr. Benson checked cheeking
skull of the yo, & decided eremicus.
Tooth row shorter than that of boylei,
only
3 souls given to Marvin Muecke at MVZ
for physiological work. May eventually
get bred to MVZ collection. Wander Pass
is apparently a new locality record
for eremicus in MVZ. Taken before in
much lower situations such as Jerry
Vanhey floor, etc.
