A.C. Zigler 1959 Peromyscus canterius 0327 entrance Pineless Nat Mon, 1100 ft, San Ben, co, Calif. AND 12 mi (by road) SSE Parcines, 1100 ft, San Ben, co, Calif. Mar.22 Fairly common at both localities but only on the higher, relatively open sage & grass or "Chamise" & base-feeding slopes, not found in the lower, very brushy areas where Peromyscus truei is fairly common. Of 200 I took only 1 snowshoe crab. Tissues of both two averages 5x9 mm. 1 F though had rather "old" uterine scales & was not lactating.
